BUCKFIELD – Working to satisfy the Budget Committee and selectmen’s requests for a budget under the state spending limit, Town Manager Glen Holmes presented a revised spending plan Tuesday night that falls $34.08 below that mark.

The board approved the revised $1.9 million budget, which will result in a mil rate of $19.85 per $1,000 of valuation. The budget is up $109,900 over this year’s spending package.

Property taxes on a home assessed at $125,000 would be $2,482.50, an increase of $95 over last year.

The number includes school costs.

Selectmen also approved the warrant for the June annual town meeting. There are several articles that will be new to the warrant. They include:

• Creation of a public works director.

• $2,800 for Civil Emergency Preparedness.

• $4,200 to support the Jesse Kimball Memorial Gymnasium.

• To raise and appropriate funds for a new bucket loader. The Board voted to accept the $81,242 bid from Komatsu for the loader if voters approve the funds.

In another matter, selectmen scheduled a site visit on June 3 on Hammond Hill Road to look at minimum maintenance needs on the road for public access.

Holmes told selectmen the water company is considering allowing a cell tower on near the water tower on Loring road.
