LEWISTON – Shane Emery Dwyer, 33, of Wilton, passed away unexpectedly Feb. 28, after a very brief illness. He was a wonderful, loving father to the two most beautiful girls ever.
MacKenzie Ireland, 11, or “Coot” as her dad called her, is the spitting image of her father. He was looking forward to being the head coach of her “Bombers” softball team this year after assistant coaching for the past two years. He had big plans for his new team.
Shane and MacKenzie would spend hours together talking about “life lessons” and how to make good choices and be the best little girl she could possibly be. He was so proud of MacKenzie and her academics. She definitely has her dad’s smarts. He knew she would grow up to be a very successful woman.
Ryleigh Shane, 8, was daddy’s “buggle.” She loved snuggling with her dad and just being whereever he was. From sitting on the arm of the couch combing his hair, to Shane laying in her lap while she ran her fingers through his hair, she was so happy to just be near him.
She was the first one to greet him at the door when he got home from work, running full tilt toward him yelling “Daddy’s home!” She was definitely daddy’s girl. Over the past couple years, he also coached Ryleigh’s soccer and tee-ball teams. He was so proud of both of them.
He also had a wife, Karri, that he would do anything for. Karri was so lucky to have found such a wonderful husband and friend. She respected his hard work, intelligence, dedication to everything he started, how he always knew just the right thing to say to everyone, and the way he put his family before anything else, more than he could have ever imagined.
He and Karri were together 16 years and married 14 of those years. He always did whatever he could to make his family happy, proud and safe. He was definitely the ultimate family man.
