AUBURN – The Auburn Education Association held its annual retirement tea on May 7 in the Park Avenue Methodist Church dining room.

The event was catered by AEA retirees Gladys Chapman and Pam MacDonald.

Decorations included spring roses, which complemented the pastel tablecloths.

Association members and their guests had a social hour and buffet before the formal program.

Tim Wegman, association president, presided. Each retiree was introduced by a speaker, who summarized her special contributions to education.

Honorees included Joan Hamann, who was introduced by Peter Selwood; Susan Trask by Elaine Dow and Karla Downs; Leslie Parker by Linda Hemond; and Nancy Weber by Carol Celani.

Each retiree received a clock in recognition of her service to Auburn education.

Other retirees unable to attend and who were presented with clocks later were James Searles, Gina Wallace, David Morin and Mary Beth Johnson.
