CORINTH (AP) – A wood pellet plant in Corinth is expected to reopen Thursday following a fire that halted production.

No injuries were reported in the Tuesday morning fire at Corinth Wood Pellets Manufacturing that may have been ignited by a spark from an exterior burner that got into the rafters of the metal-roofed building. Managing director George Soffron said the fire damaged some electrical lines, insulation and roofing. He estimated the loss at “$40,000 to $45,000 tops.”

Soffron said the plant, which employs 26 people, is one of the major producers of wood pellets used in stoves for heating.
