PARIS – A 68-year-old Paris man arrested as part of an August drug investigation was ordered to pay a $200 fine after pleading guilty to cultivating a marijuana plant.

Gard T. Plummer, of 260 Elm Hill Road, appeared in Oxford County Superior Court on Wednesday before Justice Robert Crowley. Felony charges of unlawful possession of heroin and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person were dismissed.

According to an affidavit by Agent Zane Loper of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Plummer’s residence was being used for the preparation and sale of drugs. A search of the home found scales, bags with heroin residue, a Smith and Wesson .38-caliber revolver, a marijuana plant growing outside, and a uniform shirt and a blood-alcohol kit from the Paris Police Department.

Plummer was arrested along with Derrick Morrison, then 26, of Oxford, who was charged with selling heroin and cocaine. Plummer is prohibited from owning a firearm after being convicted as a habitual offender.
