LEWISTON – Sanjay Gupta, M.D., a general, pediatric and trauma surgeon, has been appointed to the Central Maine Medical Center Medical Staff. He is practicing with Central Maine Surgical Associates in Lewiston.
Gupta last practiced at West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., where he served as an assistant professor in surgery with privileges in general/trauma surgery, surgical critical care, and pediatric surgery.
Gupta earned his medical degree from, and completed a general surgery junior residency at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He later trained for three years in pediatric surgery at AIIMS and was certified in pediatric surgery.
He completed further training in pediatric surgery at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital in Norwich, England, and served a residency in surgery at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, N.Y.
He was a senior research fellow in pediatric surgery at Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi, India, and a surgical critical care-trauma fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh.
He is certified in general surgery as well as in surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery.
WWC to offer free training session
SOUTH PARIS – Women, Work, and Community will be offering a free, 4-week training session, “Moving Through Fear,” Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. starting June 3 and ending June 24 at the Western Maine University and Community College Center.
The session is aimed at those who have fears keeping them from making decisions, going to school or work, or pursuing dreams.
The purpose of the session is to help attendees learn skills that will help them let go of the fears that keep them from creating positive changes.
