LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine will offer an American Red Cross lifeguarding course on June 6, 7, 8 and 14.

Through classroom learning and hands-on-practice, participants will learn surveillance skills to help recognize and prevent injuries, rescue skills in the water and on land, first aid training, professional rescuer CPR and professional lifeguard responsibilities like interacting with the public and addressing uncooperative patrons.

Participants must be age 15 by the last class of the course or older and must pass a pre-skills test given at the beginning of the course.
