GARDINER – Funeral services with full Military honors were held at Wednesday for Wayne F. Hatch Sr. at the First Baptist Church of Gardiner. The Rev. David Wood and the Rev. Ted Chaffee officiated at the service. Organist, David Stetson, played “Amazing Grace,” “He Touched Me,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Because He Lives.” Scripture reading, Romans 14:1-12, was read by his daughter, Jo-Ellen Staples. Son-in law, Bob Dunnett gave the eulogy. Special memories of their dad were shared by Wayne F. Hatch Jr. and Jo-Ellen Staples. Memories were also shared by many friends. Taps was played by Sgt. 1st Class Larry Gray, Sgt. Gray and Pvt. Geoff King folded the American flag and Pvt. King presented the flag to Mrs. Hatch. Pallbearers were grandchildren, Ross Peacock, Jeffrey (P.J.) Staples, Johnathan (Nate) Hatch, Kevin Hatch, Christopher (Chris) Hatch, James Hatch, Daniel Frizzell, Samuel (Sam) Hatch, Jamie Hatch Luthe, Billie Jo Hatch Staszewski, Elizabeth (Liz) Staples and Darla Frizzell. Interment at Litchfield Plains Cemetery at a later date. A family gathering was held at the home of Billie Jo and Jason Staszewski. Arrangements under the care of Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home, Monmouth.
