FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – William Roland Fortin, 64, of Hampton, N.H., died Monday, May 12, at Holy Cross Hospital, after a short illness.

He was born in Brunswick, April 21, 1944, the son of Marcel and Mary Harakul Fortin. He graduated Lisbon High School in 1962, where he played baseball, football and basketball. He also played baseball for Auburn Junior Legion and Roberts 88’ers summer leagues. Bill graduated from Farmington State College, where he majored in education and played for the Farmington Flyers.

He taught middle school at Timberlane regional in Plaistow, N.H., for 12 years, and recently retired from Store 24, where he was a manager. He was an avid golfer and recently attended the Masters Golf Tournament with his sons. He enjoyed the Patriots, Celtics and the Red Sox.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Hampton, N.H.; son, Richard and his wife, Jennifer Fortin, of Amesbury, Mass.; a daughter, Paula and her husband, Daniel Williams, of Merrimack, N.H.; a son, Timothy and his wife, Pam Fortin, also of Hampton, N.H.; a stepson, Mark Rehnborg of Gardiner, N.Y.; brothers, Tom and Robert Fortin and their wives, Terry and Vivian; seven grandchildren; three nieces; one nephew; and six great-nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by both his parents.
