TOPSHAM – Annette Lemay Perron, 77, of River Road, Topsham, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 20, at her home.

She was born in Derry, N.H., on Dec. 5, 1930, the daughter of Honoreus and Camilia Girardin Lemay. She attended local schools there.

On June 26, 1954, she married Robert H. Perron in Lewiston, and together they made their home and raised their family in Topsham.

Annette worked for 20 years as a weaver at the Bates Mill and then for 20-plus years at the Topsham Hannaford where she was fondly known as the “Seafood Lady.” She also ran a tailoring business out of her home for several years.

In her spare time, she would find any excuse to be in her car driving, go shopping, traveling, hiking and skiing. She traveled with her husband and did several cruises. She was a regular at the health spa, enjoyed swimming, motorcycles and working in the yard and garden. Her greatest enjoyment was spent surrounded by her family and friends.

She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brunswick where she sang in the choir for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband on June 12, 1993; a grandson, Keith Perron; five brothers, Marcel, Roger, Lionel and Larry Lemay; three sisters, Blanche Richards, Rene Girard and Hortense Fortin.

She is survived by two daughters, Rachael M. Perron and her fiancé Kevin Karbonek of Bath, Elizabeth P. and her husband, Jeff Hurd, of Harpswell; two sons, Ray H. and his wife, Marge Perron, of Bowdoin, and Christopher R. Perron of Portland; six grandchildren, Christina Hildebrant, Jason Gilpatrick, Ellen Prosser, Richard Prosser, Anne Perron, and Mathew Gammon; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Fern Nash of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
