To see Auburn’s offer to residents to participate in oil purchasing as a threat to capitalism is interesting.

It is sort of like seeing a sling shot as a threat to an AK-47.

The oil industry has so many perks from government that it makes the free market component of capitalism appear to be non-existent. If Auburn can help the consumer in the face of this giant, more power to it.

It’s nice to see the city council looking out for the little guy.
