LEWISTON – Lots to Gardens will present “Alive in Lewiston: A Celebration of Local Foods, Music, and Visual Art,” a sequel to last November’s “Soup and Music Night,” on Friday, May 30, at the Franco-American Heritage Center.

This red carpet event will premiere a movie featuring Lots to Gardens highlighting the work we do in the community.

A smorgasbord of homegrown musical performances will follow, with the Berwicks playing “raging reels and sinuous jigs for dancing,” the Saahibo Band will perform Somali music, Deacon Lasanga will inspire us with his passionate spoken word and we will tantalize your taste buds with freshly prepared appetizers using local foods.

“Alive in Lewiston” will be held Friday, May 30, at the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets will be sold on a sliding scale of $5 to $50-plus, with a suggested donation of $10 for individuals and $25 for families. First come, first served. Proceeds will benefit Lots to Gardens’ educational programs. Although a tuxedo and ball gown are not required, we would encourage everyone to dress up as if they were going to a real Hollywood movie premier – this is your chance to get fancy! The movie premiere will begin at 7 p.m. and the music will follow.
