SOUTH PARIS – Olive J. Cole, 84, of West Poland, died Saturday, May 24, at Market Square Health Care Center.
She was born in Poland, Sept 12, 1923, the daughter of Edwin and Elvira Martin Farr. She was educated in Poland schools and graduated from Mechanic Falls High School. On Feb. 6, 1943, she married Keith Cole in Naugatuck, Conn., and they were married for 54 years before his death on Aug. 9, 1997.
She took great pride in home and family and so much appreciated visits from her friends and relatives, especially her life-long friend Edith Taker, with whom she talked on the phone every week and loved dearly. Also the love and devotion bestowed on her by her brother Arnie Farr and his companion Priscilla Crosby, who Olive loved like a sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam Lawlor and her husband, Don, of Poland, who she lovingly called “her Don”; grandson, Keith Pierce; granddaughter, Heidi Masseli; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Easton Masseli and Hannah and Aleksa Pierce; a brother, Arnie Farr and his companion, Priscilla Crosby, of Norway; nephews, Steve Farr and his companion, Tammy Voisine, and David Farr and his companion, Helena; her brother-in-law, Donald Keene and his sons, Vance Keene and his wife, Joan and Don Keene Jr. Her last surviving brother Arnie will miss her so much.
She was predeceased by her husband; two sisters, Nonie Krason and Ellen Keene; and two brothers, Martin and Leland Farr.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Market Square Health Care Center for the kindness and love shown to Olive and her family.
