On June 10, citizens of Lewiston will vote in the Democratic primary election. I support Elaine Makas, who served as a state representative for the past six years and who is running for the state senate.
During her time in the Legislature, she fought hard for her constituents, successfully sponsoring legislation to clean up the Androscoggin River, helped prevent Casella from dumping large quantities of toxic, out-of-state construction and demolition waste in the Lewiston landfill, and she helped restore state education money to Lewiston schools.
We definitely need her in the state senate to watch over the area’s needs and interests.
Voters should remember all she has done for them and vote for her on June 10 to assure her continued support to the community.
Jo-Ann Gregoire, Lewiston
