Courtenay Deane, daughter of Robert and Mary Beth Deane and granddaughter of Lester and Jill Deane, all of Jay, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in medical biology with cum laude honors at the University of New England’s College of Arts and Sciences and College of Health Professions commencement on May 10 at the Cumberland County Civic Center, Portland.

Deane was a member and served as public relations officer for the Student Health Advisory Council. She plans to attend the University of New England’s College of Osteopathic Medicine class of 2012 in Biddeford.
