SOUTH PARIS – Alec Krapovicky, 88, of Oxford, died Saturday, May 24, at the Maine Veterans’ Home.
He was born on Dec. 21, 1919, the son of John and Emilia Krapovicky. He graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1938. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army and was wounded at Normandy and awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Oak Leaf Cluster.
He had worked for the Railway Mail, Portland Post Office, retiring from the Old Orchard Post Office.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Patricia of Oxford; son, Lee and wife, Charlotte, of Biddeford; brother, George and wife, Janet, of Auburn; grandchildren, Derek and wife, Shana, of Old Orchard Beach and Angela and partner, Lisa, of Vermont; great-grandchildren, Grayson and Quinn; nephews, Michael, Matthew and Eric Krapovicky; and stepsons, Howie Ryerson of California, and Douglas Dodge of Shapleigh.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Jeannette (Mercier); daughter, Diane; son, Danny; and brothers, John and Charles.
