LEWISTON – Gerard N. Bisson, 83, formerly of 107 Wood St., Lewiston, died Monday, May 26, at Russell Park Manor.
He was born July 28, 1924, in Lewiston, a son of Mathias and Odelie (Parent) Bisson. He was married to Leona Barriault, who passed away in 1982. He attended local schools and spent most of his adult life as a carpenter in the general contracting business.
He served his country honorably during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a member of The American Legion Post 158 of Lisbon and of St. Peter’s Parish of Lewiston. One of his greatest joys in life in his later years were the visits from his many nieces and nephews.
He is survived by one stepdaughter, Shirley Paquette and her husband, Camille, of Winslow; three sisters, Alice Fournier of Lisbon, Therese Mathieu of Lewiston and Laurette Moore of Lisbon; one brother, Ovila Bisson and his wife, Armande, of Sabattus; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Leona; his parents; and several brothers and sisters.
