NORWOOD, Mass. (AP) – A 24-year-old woman has died in a two-alarm fire at her Norwood home.
The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office says Lauren Ayala died Monday in the fire on Tremont Street.
Sharon and Walpole firefighters found Ayala on the first floor and attempted to resuscitate her outside while Norwood firefighters entered the front of the house to tackle the fire on the second floor.
The woman was taken to Caritas Norwood Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was planned, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
