PORTLAND – Tony Granadillo and Zach Daeges each drove in runs in the first inning to help the Sea Dogs beat Binghamton 3-1 on Wednesday night.

The first inning started when Jeff Corsaletti reached on a two-base error by Mets left fielder Ambiorix Concepcion. He was doubled home by Granadillo, who ended up on third after a throwing error by the shortstop Jose Coronodo. Granadillo would come around to score when Daeges singled. Pitcher Daniel Haigwood threw five innings to collect his second win of the season, striking out six, walking one, and allowing just two hits. Miguel Asencio and Carlos Vazquez pitched the final four, with Vasquez earning his first save.

Mets starter Eric Brown took the loss, giving up three runs. Brown would allow the Dogs’ final run on a single by John Otness following a Mark Wagner double in the bottom of the seventh inning.
