AUBURN – Stafford “Mike” Ringer, 65, of Farmington, passed away early Wednesday, May 28, at the Hospice House, with his wife by his side after a two year battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 19, 1942, in Damariscotta, the son of William and Mary (Stafford) Ringer. He attended school in Lubec, and Cambridge, Mass.

He married Christine Howard in December 1988. Mike worked as a pattern maker for 35 years, the longest employment of 20 years at Farmington Shoe, then retiring from Bass Shoe in Wilton, after working there from March 1988 to September 1996.

He immensely enjoyed fishing the lakes and streams of Maine. He also enjoyed hunting, working in his garage workshop, drawing and playing the guitar. He was baptized along with his wife, Christine, at the Farmington Baptist Church May 4, 2003. The Rev. Earl Edgerly and his wife, Carole, and the warm spiritual community of Christ brought him great peace and joy.

He is survived by his wife, Christine; two daughters, Jeanne Dunlow and her husband, Michael, of Sedley, Va., and Sandra Colden and her husband, Eddie, of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Michael Ringer and his wife, Laurie, of Farmington; a stepson, David Lutz of Ohio; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn Frontiero and her husband, Tony, of Florida, and Sandra Braga and her husband, David, of Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews; and he will be sadly missed by his dear friend, Robert Jones.

He was predeceased by his parents.
