These workshops are free and begin promptly at listed times. Registration is required.
CareerCenter employment and training orientation will be offered June 2, from 10-noon. It offers an explanation of training programs and career exploration and a brief introduction to the Wilton CareerCenter services.
A CareerCenter and job search orientation is offered every Tuesday from 9-noon. This will give attendees an overview of what is available to assist people who are looking for work. Those who wish can also become registered for the CareerCenter job matching system at the end of the workshop.
“O*Net ability profiler” will be offered June 6 from 9-noon. This is a career exploration tool that helps clients plan work lives using a paper and pencil format with optional apparatus parts and computerized scoring. Results can be used to identify strengths and occupations that fit the strengths.
“Preparing your resume for online applications” will be offered June 8 from 1-3 p.m. to help customers to format their resume so it can be attached to an on-line application.
“MEOC-101 – Essentials of college planning” will be offered June 19, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and includes instructions on filling out financial aid forms to assist in getting the maximum amount in grants or loans. Those interested must pre-register for this session by calling 1-800-281-3703.
