AUBURN – The UU Theater at the First Universalist Church, 169 Pleasant St., Auburn, will hold auditions for “Looking for Normal,” on Sunday, June 1, at noon and Monday, June 2, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The show will be performed mid-summer.

“Looking For Normal” is a full-length play about a middle-aged man who discovers his gender identity after having started a family.

The characters includes: Roy (lead male, late 30s to early 50s), Irma (lead female, same age range, Roy’s wife), Wayne (their son, early 20s, a roadie), Patty Ann (their daughter, a tomboy, age 13 -18), the Rev. Muncie (their pastor – late 20s to early 60s, male), Roy senior (early 50s to late 60s, Roy’s father), Em (Roy’s mother, same age range), Frank (Roy’s boss at the John Deere plant, mid 30s to early 50s, male), and Godmother Ruth (Roy’s Grandmother from another time, elderly woman).

Actors need not prepare any material, as auditions will feature cold readings from the script. For more information, call 783-0461 or go to www.auburnuu.org.
