AUBURN – Adelard A. Turgeon, 89, a resident of 257 Webster St., Lewiston, died peacefully early Thursday, May 29, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.

He was born in Lewiston, April 26, 1919, the son of John and Marie (Brulotte) Turgeon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a foreman for many years at Belmont Shoe Co.

He married the former Yvonne Paradis, April 7, 1972. He was a member of Holy Cross Church, the American Legion and the DAV. His hobbies included playing cards, especially solitaire.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Yvonne of Lewiston; a special niece and caregiver, Doris (Turgeon) Chasse and her husband, Emile, of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews from the Turgeon family.

He was predeceased by 11 brothers; and two sisters.

A special thank-you to the Hospice House staff and the Androscoggin Home Care nurses for the care given to Adelard and especially to Dr. George Morrissette for being Adelard’s longtime physician.
