People living in Rumford know there are many people here doing good works every day of the week. These are people who understand the problems of life and try to make those problems easier for others. Many receive credit for their good works in the newspaper.

However, for the last five years, Rumford has been the subject of much bad news because of the unstable government, the political circus, that the selectmen created month after month. That bad news pushed the many good works of people into the background, and, as everyone knows, bad news is always remembered a lot longer than good news.

Selectmen Mark Belanger and Greg Buccina, who are seeking re-election, have helped to create the political circus that has brought so much bad news to Rumford. I like both, personally, but they and their supporters have been a real problem for the town.

I do not have much confidence in the other selectmen candidates, so right now I have no idea whom I will vote for to bring stable government to the town. The only thing I know is things have got to change.

I hope voters in Rumford will elect selectmen June 10 who will bring the good news that exists in the town back to the newspapers. The bad news that selectmen have created is not the whole truth about the town.
