Elaine Graham, in her letter published May 22, blames the media for the destruction of traditional family life.
How? She blames the Sun Journal for printing pictures and stories of smiling gay people.
Farmington must have a special section to the paper because I have yet to see all those happy, well-adjusted gays in my edition for South Paris.
I believe we are all God’s children. He, or she, loves the 85 percent of the world’s heterosexual population as much as the 15 percent gay and lesbian population. Never forget, “Whatsoever you do to the least of my children, that you do unto me.”
Denying homosexuals equality is not the will of a loving God.
Michael Heath should devote his time to healing the heterosexual community. Divorce, incest, killing of mates and children are in the media headlines every day. Destruction of traditional families is not the doing of the gay community. Blame the straight community for that mess, not the media.
The word “marriage” is a religious term and should not be used by any government agency. The government should be issuing civil union licenses to all individuals who want to unite, while religious groups could issue a separate piece of paper known as the traditional marriage license.
Gays and lesbians should be free to live their lives to the fullest capacity, without the shackles the religious groups have placed on them. May God have mercy on their self-righteous souls for denying equality to all human beings.
