AUBURN – A Buckfield man faces charges after his car hit a vacant house for sale at the intersection of West Auburn and Marston Hill roads early Sunday morning.

Jared M. Smith was charged with operating under the influence and driving to endanger. The 1:06 a.m. accident sent Smith and his passenger, Jason DuBois, 26, address unknown, to a hospital for minor injuries.

According to the Auburn police, Smith was northbound on West Auburn Road when his car left the road at the intersection of Marston Hill Road and hit a home at 29 Marston Hill Road. Damage to Smith’s 1989 Mazda 2-door was estimated at $5,000.
