West Paris – Michael L. Dow, 56, of West Paris, died quietly at his home in West Paris on Thursday, May 29, after the long tireless intrusion of cancer.

He was a 24-year resident of West Paris, where he resided with his wife Marguarite (Beaulieu) Dow, his son Donovan and daughter, Daecia, as well as faithful canine, Harley, and three feline companions.

He attended Mahoney Jr. High and South Portland High School in the 60s. He worked at Songo Shoe Factory as a foreman in the 70s and later for 14 years at International Paper in Jay, from which he retired due to illness in 2001. He enjoyed antiques, old movies, cooking and a houseful of friends and family, a cold beer, a good joke and laughter.

He is survived by his mother, Sally B. Dow of South Paris; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Timothy Collins of Oxford; and brother, Larry R. Dow of Buxton. He has three sons, Michael, Lewis and Larry Dow from a previous marriage; as well as a grandson, Logan; and many nieces and nephews.
