As past chairman of the L&A Veterans Council, I want to congratulate the council for the excellent parade and ceremony for Memorial Day on May 24.
I’m very disappointed in the Sun Journal. On the day after, there were no photos of either the parade or the ceremony, which had distinguished guests such as Rep. Mike Michaud and Rep. Tom Allen, plus the state commandant of the Marine Corps League, who came to Lewiston to unveil the new fifteenth stone with the Marine Corps League logo on the stone. Also unveiled were two plaques.
The parade and ceremony had well over 1,000 spectators, which was very encouraging to the veterans and those who paraded. It was a great day, and my thanks to all who helped make the day a wonderful day to remember all those who gave their lives so that we are free today.
