Hospital garden needs green thumb volunteers
NORWAY – Volunteers spent the morning on May 22 working on the signature courtyard garden at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
Led by Winnie Clark, a long-time volunteer in the garden, the group, composed of Marina Sessions, Carol Trebilcock and Marguerite Johnson, planted flowers and prepared the garden for patients to enjoy. Bunny Pratt has also done work in the garden this spring but was unable to attend.
Several more volunteers are needed to adopt the garden in the courtyard and care for it during the spring, summer and fall. Tasks will include maintaining garden beds, weeding, pruning and planting.
The opportunity requires self-directed individuals with a love for the outdoors, the physical ability to garden, gardening experience and ability to take direction.
