LEWISTON – Laurier R. “Larry” Raymond, 72, of 225 Broad St. in Auburn, died Monday, June 2, at d’youville Pavilion with family at his side.
He was born in Auburn, Aug. 12, 1935, a son of Arsene and Jeanne (Boucher) Raymond. He was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of Auburn, living on the same street he grew up on.
On April 19, 1958, he married the former Pauline Marois and together they raised three children. Larry worked for many years at Bath Iron Works and spent several of those years as a stage builder until his retirement in 1987.
He was a member of the Lewiston Christian Fellowship and enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture. But he primarily was a homebody when he wasn’t working, as he simply enjoyed spending time with his family and the home he and Pauline created. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Pauline Raymond of Auburn; his children, Michael Raymond of Auburn, Donna Berce and husband, John, of Auburn and Bertrand Raymond of Kittery; four grandchildren, Madison, Alex, Samuel and Sean; a sister, Theresa Godin and husband, Marcel, of Auburn; a brother, Bertrand Raymond and wife, Florence, of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.
