Lewiston-Auburn commercial properties in transition

699 Center St., Auburn: Wally Camp Sr., the majority stockholder of Rowe Fordland in Auburn, purchased the rest of the stock in the dealership from former co-owner Dan Pulkkinen to become exclusive owner of the Route 4 dealership. Camp intends to combine promotions and marketing with his other Rowe dealership in Westbrook, which is operated by his son Wally Camp Jr.

Camp Sr. said he has hired Taylor Smith-Petersen as the general manager of the Auburn dealership and his intent is to improve business before handing off the operation to his son.

730 Center St., Auburn: Auburn Plaza, home of Bed Bath & Beyond, TJ Maxx and a Flagship cinema among others, is for sale. Owned by GFI Partners of Boston, the 259,000-square-foot shopping plaza was purchased in 2003 from developer George Schott for $10.2 million. The plaza, built about 1990, covers approximately 24 acres.

192-198 Bates St., Lewiston: Sold to Sultan Corp. from Double Eagle Properties, Feb. 18. The 10-unit brick building that faces Kennedy Park sold for $309,000. On Jan. 13, 2004 it was purchased for $230,500 by ATL Holdings; 15 days later it was bought by Double Eagle for $288,125.

218-230 Bartlett St., Lewiston: The new Tri-County Mental Health building sold by Bartlett Enterprises of Auburn to Michael Wayne Olberding trustee, of Vista, Calif., on March 31. The office building sold for $1.9 million.

65 Washington St. Auburn: Former garage/retail complex on the rotary is for sale. One-acre parcel and building listed with Century 21 Advantage for $425,000.

968 Minot Ave., Auburn: Leighton’s Take-out, a longtime local family business, is for sale. The 3-acre parcel, including the 1950 building, is listed for $850,000 with Belanger Realty.

170 Center St., Auburn: Built in 1979, the 72-room Econo Lodge is for sale. The asking price for the 3.4-acre site is $2.4 million. It was sold in 2003 for $2 million. Listed with ERA Worden Realty.

101 Pine St., Lewiston: The 1850 Victorian home that housed Guy B. Dostie Funeral Home is for sale. The building, which has two two-bedroom units on second and third floors, and commercial space on the first floor, is listed with ERA Worden Realty for $235,000. The business has relocated to 2151 Lisbon Road, former home of the Good News Chapel.

67 Webster St., Lewiston: Historic Victorian home with Queen Anne porch for sale. Offices on first and second floors; remodeled three-bedroom apartment on third. Listed with Millett Realty for $249,000.

1035 Lisbon St., Lewiston: Representatives from McDonald’s requested a preliminary meeting with city staff to consider traffic requirements if they decide to build a new restaurant in the former Shaw’s plaza where Dollar Tree and Goodwill operate.
