JAY – Jeannetta Shank blasted two-run home runs in both the first and second innings as Jay rolled to a 14-1 triumph over Winthrop in a softball game Monday.
Liz LeBlanc, coming off an injury, helped the Jay cause with a two-run double.
Alexii Smith fanned nine batters to earn the win, and helped her own cause with two doubles and single.
St. Dom’s 2, Greely 0
AUBURN – With the help of a Greely error and a double by Kelsey Murphy, St. Dom’s scored twice in the third inning for a 2-0 win Monday in what proved to be a very well-balanced defensive game.
Erynne Landry and Danielle Guerin each had two singles, while Jen Cullen earned the win, hitting a single of her own.
The three hits by Greely were from Erika Zambella, Victoria Pisini, and Marika Style.
Madison 9, Livermore Falls 3
LIVERMORE FALLS – Bianca Stoutamyer hit a two-run double in the third, and later had an RBI single in the seventh, to lead Madison to a 9-3 win over Livermore Falls Monday afternoon.
Amanda Costa and Erin Erickson each hit a pair of singles for the Bulldogs (7-7).
Kathrynn Lake and Laura Langlin each doubled for the Andies (6-10).
Georges Valley 7, Hall-Dale 1
THOMASTON – Danielle Frye had a solid performance on the mound, giving up one run, and striking out 10 batters, to pace Georges Valley to a 7-1 win over Hall-Dale.
Jess Keating had three hits, including a double and a pair of singles, and also had two RBIs for the undefeated Buccaneers (15-0), while Ashley Geel added an RBI double.
While the lone Hall-Dale run was walked in. Christie Houdlette had two hits.
Nokomis 3, Oxford Hills 1
SOUTH PARIS – Sammy Moore’s double in the third brought in Autumn Silke and Patricia Cianchette to give Nokomis the two-run advantage they would need to insure the 3-1 victory over Oxford Hills.
Silke ended the game with three hits. For the Vikings, Megan Gauger hit a double.
Fryeburg 5, Gray-NG 0
FRYEBURG – Hannah Hill dominated the contest, racking up 17 strikeouts, and smacking a double and a triple, to lead Fryeburg to a 5-0 shutout over Gray-New Gloucester.
Jackqui Bell singled, stole second, and scored a run on a line drive by Ariel McConkey for the Fryeburg (14-1) win.
Pitcher Laura Getchell had a solid performance for the Patriots (11-4), fanning 12 batters in the losing cause.
Lisbon 13, Mtn. Valley 1
LISBON – Lisbon scored nine runs on three hits and seven walks, to record a 13-1 victory over Mountain Valley.
Emily Moore earned the win, striking out six and walking zero batters for the Greyhounds (9-5). Kerstin Kenney and Chelsea Dupal each had a pair of hits apiece.
Buckfield sweeps
BUCKFIELD – The Buckfield softball team won both games in a doubleheader against Forest Hills, shutting out the Tigers 12-0 in the opener, and 14-6 in the second match.
Pitcher Kasey Farrington paced the Bucks in the first game, smacking two triples and a double. Amy Reuter ended the contest with three hits, while Ashlee Hamann had two.
In the nightcap, Alyssa Henderson and Farrington each doubled in the 14-6 Bucks’ win, while Melissa Taylor, Zoe Gillis, Alicia Patrie, Brittany Wiley, and Reuter each had a pair of hits. For Forest Hills (9-5), Vicky Pease smacked a triple, and Jasmine Worster had two singles.
