LEWISTON – Frieda E. Buckley, 94, a former resident of Wales and Monmouth, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, at Marshwood Nursing Home.

The daughter of the late Fred and Edna (Faxon) Young, she was born in Auburn, on Oct. 17, 1913, and received her education in the public schools there.

In 1942, she married Robert Buckley of Boston, Mass.; he died in 1964. She was a homemaker all her life. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and driving her car all over the state and beyond.

She was active in local, state and national Grange organizations for 80 years. She was also a member of the North Monmouth Church.

Survivors include a son, Hugh Buckley and his wife, Pamela, of Leeds; a daughter, Sheryl Gandy and her husband, Winston, of Monmouth; six grandchildren, Stacey Morissette, Michelle Buckley, Robert Buckley, Jenell Gandy, Jennifer Gandy and Joanna Souza; six great-grandchildren, Brandon and Kristen Morissette, Samuel Buckley and Jasmyn, Jason and Justyn Souza; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Kyle and Konnor Adams.
