RUMFORD – Frances E. Blood, 82, of Bull Rock Lane in Dixfield, died Tuesday, June 3, at Rumford Community Home after a brief illness.

She was born in Rumford, on July 7 1925, a daughter of Errold and Carlotta (Small) Ellis. She was educated in Dixfield and Mexico schools.

On March 14, 1942, she married Oliver I. Blood in Mexico and together they have celebrated 66 years of marriage.

She was a 69-year member of the Dixfield Congregational Church, and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Swift River Grange, member and past worthy matron of the order of Eastern Star and also a member of the Carthage Mothers Club.

She is survived by her husband, Oliver I. Blood Sr. of Dixfield; her children, Nancy Libby and husband, Richard, of Peru, Oliver I. Blood Jr. of Jay, Fonda Davenport and husband, Pete, of Peru, Marilyn Henry and husband, Stanley, of New Gloucester, Mary Emery and husband, Ronald Jr., of Osteen, Fla., Roland Blood and wife, Dottie, of Rumford and Kathy Irish and husband, Andrew, of Peru; three sisters, Beverly Perkins of Canton, June Brewer of Westbrook and Maxie Turbide of Auburn; three brothers, Kenneth Ellis of Carthage, Charles Ellis and wife, Nancy, of Jay and Carroll Ellis and wife, Judy, of Dixfield; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by her parents; two sons, Lance Corporal Gary Blood U.S. Marines Corps and Ronald Blood; one sister, Iola Frost; two brothers, Morton and Edward Ellis; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Blood.
