FREDERICTON, New Brunswick (AP) – The head of the Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick expects it to be a rough year.
Rheal Robichaud says high gas prices, currency exchange rates and customs requirements for crossing the border will all have an impact on visitor numbers.
Robichaud says the industry will need to weather a kind of perfect storm but he remains cautiously optimistic.
In an effort to help, the province has introduced a new 100 coupon booklet for tourists that includes discounts for accommodations, campgrounds, activities, attractions and provincial parks.
