AUBURN – East Auburn recently defeated Austin’s, 2-0, in Auburn Suburban Little League Major baseball. Corey Henderson had two hits for East Auburn, including a 2-run home run. He also struck out 17 in 5 2/3 no-hit innings on the mound. Mickey Lawrence and Matt Keaney combined on a 3-hitter for Austin’s. Nate Alexander had his team’s lone hit.
In other action, East Auburn split two games with Hardy, Wolf & Downing. HWD won the first contest, 13-7, behind four hits from Brandon Dubuc. Other repeat hitters were Brandon Binette, Alex Brushwein and Lovell. Caleb Burgess pitched well in relief for the winners. Seth Sterling slapped four hits for East Auburn, with Luke Sterling and Matt Verrill also contributing multiple hits.
The rematch was a different story, with East Auburn rolling to a 16-1 win. Henderson homered and scored three runs. Kaileb Tremaine also crossed the plate three times. Luke and Seth Sterling and Llewellyn Jensen were repeat hitters, Joe Cooper was strong in his relief effort on the hill. Dubuc and Noah Pelletier produced hits for HWD, and Caleb Burgess pitched a solid game.
