CAPE COD, Mass. – Patricia A. Tener, 71, of Harwich, Mass., formerly of Lewiston, passed away peacefully May 29, at Cape Cod Hospital, with her family by her side.

Pat was born and raised in Sewickley, Pa., Dec. 18, 1936. She attended Marjorie Webster Junior College in Washington D.C. She was a flight attendant for two years for Eastern Airlines based in Boston and also worked as assistant to an oral surgeon for two years in Jamaica Plain, Mass.

After she was married in 1961, she became a homemaker and raised her family in Hingham, Mass., for 20 years, before coming to the Cape in 1984. She lived in Dennis, Mass., then moved in Lewiston from 1992 to 1995. She returned to the Cape and resided in Harwich for the past 12 years. She loved Cape Cod and living near the ocean.

In addition to being involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives, she was social and community service-oriented. More recently, she was made a board member with the Cape Cod COPD Support Group and as a member and sponsor to the local AA chapter. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening, knitting, reading, in addition to dancing, playing the guitar and most of all, she loved a good laugh. She will be dearly missed.

She was the mother of Sandra Savola Anthoine of Auburn, Ann Savola Nelson of Douglas, Mass., and Dr. Kristen Savola-Verghese and husband, Dr. George Verghese of Charlottesville, Va.; she also leaves four grandchildren, Mark, Connor and Katherine Anthoine and Alexa Verghese.
