LEWISTON – Lee R. Allen Sr., 64, of Poland Road, Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 5, at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston.

He was born on Sept. 9, 1943, in Ayer, Mass., the son of Robert and Elli (Liimatainen) Allen.

Lee and his wife, Helen Thomas, were married on May 29, 1971, in Lewiston, and celebrated 37 years together.

His family was the most important thing to him. During his life, he was a hard worker and had a great sense of humor and a big heart.

Lee was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Roger Adams and Joe Hasty; and a grandson, Chandler Allen.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, of Auburn; daughters, Janet Proctor and husband, George, of Leeds, Janice Lashua of Lewiston, Juanita Allen of Auburn, and Laurie Chute of Lewiston; sons, Richard Breton and wife of Durham, and Lee Allen Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of Turner; and 13 grandchildren.
