NORWAY – Melani-Ann Sirois, 47, of Norway, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 4, surrounded by her loving family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Lewiston on June 20, 1960, daughter of Constance (Murdock) Cyr and Harold Clark, and raised in Auburn by her maternal grandparents, Gertrude and Charles Murdock.

She married the love of her life, Glenn, on March 18, 1978, and celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this year.

For many years she worked for Hudson Bus Lines, and most recently at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway. She fulfilled a lifelong dream of living by Pennesseewassee Lake in Norway near her children, the same lake where she spent summers as a child. Melani’s true passion in life was her commitment and dedication to her family. She enjoyed spoiling her two grandsons, Noah and Elijah, boating on the lake, long walks, spending nights by the campfire, shopping and the ocean.

She will be remembered for her unique sense of humor, power of positive thought, personal strength and outlook on life. Melani will forever remain an inspiration and role model to all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Glenn; daughters, Heather McBean and husband, Andrew, and Shannon Martel and husband, Travis, her son, Joshua, and grandsons, Noah and Elijah Martel, all of Norway; her mother, Connie Cyr of Parsonsfield; brothers, Danny Clark of Georgia, and George C. Cyr of Parsonsfield; sisters, Jennifer Slocum of Sebago, and Debra Cox and Kathy Giles, both of Georgia; parents-in-law, Joseph and Shirley Sirois; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Normand and Tamara Sirois of Limerick, Mark Sirois and Yvette Roux of Auburn, Henry and Sandra Morin of Lewiston, Lyndon and Katherine Sirois of Minot, and Robert Sirois and fiancée, Jennifer Mott, of Minot; and an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless wonderful friends.

She was predeceased by her father; stepfather, George Cyr; maternal grandparents; and sister-in-law, Laureen Dillon.

Special thanks to Dr. Linda Gifford, the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice nursing staff, the staff at Stephen’s Memorial Hospital, SAD 17 school department, Poland Spring Bottling, the Rev. Noah, Doris Jaynes and the Oxford Hills Christian Fellowship Church, where she was a member.
