LEEDS – Announcement is made of the engagement of Brittney Kern of Leeds and Brandon Bechard of Monmouth.

Miss Kern is the daughter of Phil and Heidi Kern of Leeds and Melissa Maltby of Oxford. She is a 2008 graduate of Leavitt Area High School and plans to attend the University of Maine in the fall, majoring in biology.

Mr. Bechard is the son of Don and Debra Bechard of Monmouth. He is a 2008 graduate of Monmouth Academy and plans to attend Eastern Maine Community College for automotive technology in the fall.

No date has been set for the wedding.
