LEEDS – Voters at town meeting Saturday decided against hiring a town manager, said Selectman Gerald Burgess Sr., adding that the vote was not close.

“We’re just too small a town for that,” he said. The measure was “brought forward by a few and the majority went against it.”

Residents also voted to keep the hired road foreman position as is, rather than changing it back to an elected road commissioner position, according to Burgess.
