Some commonsense tips for dealing with hot weather:
n Slow down.
n Drink plenty of water.
n Find a cool place out of the sun.
n Check on elderly neighbors.
n Make sure children don’t overheat.
n Give pets plenty of water and never leave them alone in a vehicle with the windows rolled up.
n Be aware of symptoms of heat-related illness, such as cramps, headaches or nausea. At its most severe, heat stroke can be life-threatening.
