Sanford – George B. Young, 70, a resident of Sanford, died January 21. He was born on November 7, 1937 in Livermore Falls, the son of Carlton and Leah (Pelletier) Young and was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School. He was a member of the Army Reserves for six years. He worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and also worked as a woodsman.

He is survived by his wife Gail (Yates) Young of Sanford; three sons, Larry, George Jr., and Michael Young; daughters, Dorothy, Judy and Wendy; brothers, Arthur, Thomas, and Joseph Young all of Fayette; a sister, Jane Keene of Livermore; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
