FARMINGTON – Kendrick V. Smith, 80, a resident of Galilee Road in Farmington, died Monday, June 9, at his home surrounded by his family following a short illness. He was born on Jan. 18, 1928 in Bridgeport, Conn., the son of Clifford K. and Marguerite F. (Nichols) Smith. He was a 1946 graduate of Plymouth High School in Plymouth, N.H.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. On May 26, 1977, he married Elaine House Byron in Farmington. He worked at Warnaco for 22 years in graphic arts and packaging and also worked for Knowlton-McCleary in Farmington for 17 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed baseball, football, golfing, snowmobiling and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Elaine of Farmington; a son, Rikki Smith of Stratford, Conn.; a sister, Audrey Casstevens of Gramby, Conn.; a step-son Eric Byron and his wife, Amy, of Livermore; four grandchildren, Karli Smith, Kimberly Byron, Jennifer Byron and Eric James Byron; brother-in-law Darryl House and his wife, Vicky, of Fayette; nephews Bryan House and his wife, Charity, of Fayette, and Daniel House and his wife, Melanie, of Concord, N.C. He was predeceased by his parents and in-laws, Clayton and Marcia House.
