LIVERMORE FALLS – Former Selectman Bill Demaray was elected to fill a three-year selectman’s term over incumbent Selectman Melanie Rounds, 161-132, Tuesday.

Both said previously that the biggest issue facing the town is taxes.

Demaray served on the board for 15 years, some of it as chairman, before resigning last year.

Re-elected in unopposed races were incumbent SAD 36 directors Elaine LaPointe with 219 votes and Denise Rodzen with 161 votes.

Incumbent selectman’s Chairwoman Jackie Knight received 250 votes and incumbent Town Clerk/Treasurer Kristal Flagg garnered 269 votes. Both were unopposed.

Lynn Knight was a write-in candidate to fill a vacant SAD 36 with 16 votes.
