SOUTH PARIS – Grace C. Bennett, 92, formerly of Squaw Rock Road, Moosup, Conn., beloved wife of the late Alfred Bennett, died Wednesday, June 11 in the morning at Market square in South Paris.
She was born Oct. 27, 1915, in Woodstock, Conn., a daughter of the late Henry and Delia (Emmons) Duprey. Mrs. Bennett had resided in Moosup for most of her life, moving to Norway several years ago to make her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Eric Grondahl. She had been employed by the former Marchesseault Dry Goods in Moosup and later by King-Seeley Thermos. Co. in Norwich, Conn., retiring many years ago. Mrs. Bennett enjoyed baking and knitting for her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Plainfield.
She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Henry and Priscilla of Moosup; five grandchildren, Michael Grondahl, Marc Grondahl, Liisa Marcheski, Sara Bennett O’Cleirigh and Abigail Bennett Clark; seven grandchildren, Eric, Matthew, Justin and Rylee Grondahl, Lukas and Charles Marcheski and Mairead NiCleirigh.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Antionette Damato, M. Blanche Griswold, Rose Kelly LaBranche and Elizabeth Goyette Millar; and a brother, Henry Duprey.
