WATERFORD – The Waterford Library will offer a Readers’ Theater workshop this summer for students enrolled in grades five and six.

Participants will develop a program based on poems by Shel Silverstein, meeting at the library from 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning on July 8 and resulting in a show for family and friends on Aug. 7.

The workshop leader will be Joanne Morse, who has been a full-time resident of Waterford since 2004, following a career as a high school English and drama teacher in New York state and later in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium in Department of Defense dependent schools.

Morse has been active in various library and drama projects wherever she has lived, and she has assisted in planning several of the Oxford Hills Reads: One Book, One Community programs.

Preregistration for the program is required no later than Friday, June 20. Call or e-mail the library to register or for more information at 583-2050 or e-mail [email protected].
