AUBURN – Leslie McNeil, 91, of 480 Minot Ave., passed away Thursday, June 12, at Clover Manor.
He was born in Sanford on Dec. 20, 1916, the son of S. Thomas and Alice (Doughty) McNeil. He graduated from Sanford High School in 1935.
He was married May 29, 1942, to Elsie E. Brook, also of Sanford, and left a week later to serve his country with the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon his return in 1945, he enrolled at the University of New Hampshire and graduated in 1949.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a cost accountant at Pioneer Plastics in Sanford and Auburn for more than 20 years.
He was a loving and devoted husband and father and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Dennis Weston, of Auburn; niece, Shirley (McNeil) Bowman of Scarborough; nephew, Thomas McNeil, of Pittsfield; sister-in-law, Alice Brook, of Burlington, Mass.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carole and John Pike of Livermore Falls; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elsie, in 2005; and his two brothers, Winfred and Burton McNeil.
