I read the June 8 editorial about the Frary campaign with amusement. “Get serious” was the point I most enjoyed. John Frary is as near as I can see to being the most serious candidate in any race going.
Is he original? Yes.
Does he heap scorn on the political sideshow? Yes.
Does he use humor and sarcastic wit against the stupid ideas that both Republicans and Democrats engage in? Yes.
Serious.
Here’s a thought: We are entering the most serious energy crisis in 30 years. The price of fuel and a weakening dollar are making everyone poorer.
The big lie the politicians tell us is people can have something for nothing. For 50 years, Western civilization has been funded by cheap energy and government ponzi schemes. The bill is coming due.
What do Rep. Mike Michaud and other members of Congress propose? Nothing that will work; just arrest OPEC members.
Michaud and Congress want to continue the lie that people can have it all – retire early, drive big cars, keep energy usage large. At the same time, he doesn’t back drilling for more oil; he doesn’t want nuclear power plants; he plays friend to the radical environmental groups.
I ask, who is serious?
Politics to Michaud is a career and a game.
It is apparently now also a game to the editorial staff of the Sun Journal.
It is not Professor Frary who needs to get serious, but Rep. Michaud and the Sun Journal editorial staff.
