Auburn – Thomas N. Hallowell, 61, a resident of No Name Pond Road, in Lewiston, died Saturday afternoon, June 14, at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn following a long illness.

He was born Jan. 27, 1947, in Lewiston, the son of Walter W. and Gwendolyn (Gayton) Hallowell. He attended school in Lewiston and Sabattus High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. On Sept. 27, 2005, Thomas married Diane T. Guay in Lewiston. He worked as a self-employed carpenter and logger. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and camping at Big Jim Pond in Eustis.

He is survived by his wife, Diane of Lewiston; a daughter, Tammy of Calais; a stepdaughter, Guylene Gregoire and her companion, Wayne Spiller, of Lewiston; three stepsons, Stephen Gregoire also of Lewiston, Joseph Brown and his wife, Lori, of Greene and Steve Cote and his companion, Ellie, of South Paris; his sister, Betty Lou Dustin of Lebanon, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Nancy Webster, in 1985.
